Somewhere over the past few years I’ve lost my voice.
No, I’m not talking about my physical voice (though some would love to see me lose that, I’m sure), but my voice online.
For years I talked about tech as it related to WordPress and, honestly, I enjoyed it. It gave me something to care about and really resonated with the folks I interacted with.
Today, well… if you’re here you’ve seen how that has fallen apart.
I’m no longer in WordPress. That kinda kills my ability to blog about WordPress.
So what do I talk about?
I’ve gotta stop complaining about my tech stack. I know this. I’m stuck between wanting to be excited about one thing or another in tech and avoiding the topic as I know getting excited about anything is asking for abuse in some circles (looking at you, Fediverse).
I also don’t write code on the daily anymore. Instead I’ve built some really great teams over the last few years and I do think those topics could and should find their way into my writing.
What could I write about then:
- Tools around blogging in general
- Software leadership
- My few remaining side projects, most of which are in Go
- Random topics I find fascinating, such as history and others
There’s a lot of material in there. I now need to figure out how to start working it into my blog here and, more importantly, working it into my life.
