While I’ve kept projects like Kana and this site going I want to get more involved with code again, especially as my day job requires me to build teams and processes, rather than software.
PHP Tek, 2 weeks ago, was inspiring for me in a way a tech conference hasn’t been in a very long time. Unlike WordCamps, the material actually covered the tech and was forward looking and educational and I want more of it.
The catch is, I don’t have a lot of time or much of a use case at the moment for a PHP personal project so instead I’m trying a different, for me, path. I bought a lifetime license to Laracasts.
I’ve had a hit-and-miss relationship with courses in the past but this one comes highly recommended, especially as I’ve worked with Laravel in the past (even though it’s been over 7 years now).
The goal here is simply to learn and inspire and that’s what I have to remember. Not everything has to be turned into a formal side project.
I can’t wait.
