I didn’t have to work, we went to a Chicago Fire game on Saturday and to our favorite pizza place on Sunday.
For all I’ve chased a career it’s always nice to go back to Barnaby’s, our favorite pizza place in Niles.
I left Chicago in 1998 and it was my favorite then. Today it looks exactly the same as it did then, right down to the same people at the counter. The bartender has been there since 1981. I don’t know how long the others have been there but it has to be close to that.
I often wonder if I could’ve made a go at a life where I didn’t feel the need to change jobs for a promotion or when the product I work on is cancelled. I wonder what it would be like to do today what I did in my 30s, much less over 44 years.
Today I can say I’ve done well for myself but… I can still wonder.
