All Tech Is Mostly The Same

It sometimes amazes me how interconnected our lives and gear are these days, and how much of a monoculture permeates it all, especially in tech.

We all use mostly the same tools to do the same thing with a million tiny variations while telling ourselves that we’re somehow special or unique.

I miss the days of reading about people who really did do things differently, particularly with tech. When things like “uses” pages could actually be used to discover something new.

Maybe we’ll get back there one day… We’ll see.
