The Year of Less Shopping

| 1 min read

As the new year gets going there is one thing I’m trying to make sure doesn’t for us…

…our spending.

For someone who would’ve been called a “minimalist” a few years ago when the term was hot (as a kid my mom called an “anti-packrat”) last year was crazy. We downsized our house yet spent a small fortune adjusting to our new life.

We both needed new clothes for Chicago winters. I needed clothes for going into an office for the first time in over a decade. Some of our tech needed updates. Generally getting settled in our new place required a number of purchases… the list goes on.

While I understand the need for a spending spree, I’m tired of shopping. Here’s to hoping 2025 is the year we can enjoy what we already have.
