Longing for Linux (Again)

There is no such thing for me as “content.”

That’s the only conclusion I can come up with after removing Windows and reinstalling Linux on my Framework laptop as now I find myself looking for ways to move back to Linux full-time once again.

Mac works for me, don’t get me wrong. I just really do prefer using Linux, particularly on my Framework laptop, with Linux.

The catch is that I’ve tried this before, more than once, and it never works out. If I didn’t have to interact with anyone it would be fine but that’s not my reality. From my calendar to photos, files and even some passwords I share quite a bit of data with my family, who is already all on Apple. When I step away from that it causes nothing but problems.

Then there is the issue of software availability. There are a number of tools I have to use that simply don’t work on Linux, even in 2025. While finding alternatives is a nice idea, it just isn’t possible with everything.

So here I am again, writing from my Linux laptop, wishing all my fancy Apple tech was far simpler and that I could switch back to Linux…

…and realizing that even that won’t make me content.
