Bringing Back Kana

Last Fall I archived Kana, the WordPress development environment I had been working on since 2021. I did it when I ended my participation in the WordPress project and it was the right move for me.

The catch is, I still need such a tool for a few projects I’ll be working on and I can’t stand the alternatives available.

So this week I’ve un-archived the Kana repositories on GitHub and am bringing the project back, not because I want it to become the defacto standard or anything, in fact I think that ship has sailed, but because it is the best WordPress development environment available and I still need to use WordPress for a few projects, whether I want to or not.

I’ll also add that I really enjoyed working on Kana. It’s written in Go, fairly simple in concept and, most of all, it does exactly what I need it to do. What else could I ask for in a tool and project?
